Little Museum of Dublin - Dublin’s Best Museum Experience

Voted “Dublin's best museum experience” by the Irish Times, the Little Museum of Dublin tells the remarkable history of the city in the 20th Century and is rightfully considered one of the top things to do in Dublin.

The museum is housed across three levels in a stunning Georgian Townhouse on Dublin’s St. Stephen’s Green, and is made up of historical objects gathered after a call out to Dubliners to share some of their old belongings.

Described as ‘quirky and eccentric’ by Conde Nest Travel, the museum’s charming rooms are packed with items of historical significance from 20th century Dublin. From the lectern used by JFK on his 1963 visit to Ireland, to historic Dublin milk bottles, Aer Lingus ads, bus scrolls, and even an original copy of the letter given to the Irish envoys to the treaty negotiations of 1921.

Walk

From Trinity College Dublin, the Museum is 700m walking distance, about a 9 minute walk up the pedestrianised Grafton Street and along St. Stephen's Green. If you have a time to spare, why don't you walk through the beautiful Stephen's Green or explore the fabulous MoLI and learn all about James Joyce's Ulysses...well worth a visit if you're in the area!

Cycle

Cycling is a great way to travel to see around The Little Museum and sights around St. Stephen's Green. There is a Dublin Bike station at the southern gate of Trinity on Lenister Street and another Dublin Bike station on Stephen's green. It would be less than two minute cycle directly but enjoy the cycle around the historic area.

Dublin Bus

Many Dublin Bus routes pass close to the museum. Plan your journey with Dublin Bus.

Luas

There are two Luas stops very close to the door of the museum. One Luas stop is on St. Stephen's Green or alternatively, explore some of the book shops while making your way to the Luas stop on Dawson's Street. Plan your journey with Luas.
