Located just over 10km from Dublin city centre, Dun Laoghaire Harbour offers over 200 acres of sheltered water—an ideal setting for learning to stand-up paddleboard. Based at the slipway to the Coal Harbour, the most protected part of the port, this experience is perfect for beginners and confident paddlers alike.
Instructors tailor the session to each person's pace—whether it’s a relaxed introduction or a guided explore of the harbour. Experienced paddlers can also rent a board and set off on their own coastal adventure.

All equipment is included in the price—board, paddle, wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and even wetsuit boots if needed. Guests just need to bring a towel and a pair of shorts.
Prepare for being outdoors, bring warm clothes, suncream etc.
Visitors must arrive at least 15 minutes before the session starts.

Paid parking is available beside the slipway (€2 per hour).
Visitors must complete a waiver, which will be sent by the activity provider in advance.

Options:
Solo Session
Previous paddleboarding experience is required for solo sessions for safety reasons, anyone without sufficient experience will not be permitted to paddle alone.
This activity is suitable for those who wish to explore the harbour independently.
The session lasts 1.5 hours, but participants should allow around 2 hours in total to include wetsuit fitting, signing in, and equipment matching.
A short safety briefing will cover the key do’s and don’ts for paddling within the harbour.
Children are welcome to join solo sessions but must be accompanied on the water by an adult.
Guided Session
Participants will be introduced to the basics of stand-up paddleboarding, including safety guidelines, weather awareness, and tips for navigating the harbour safely.
The session lasts 1.5 hours, but participants should allow around 2 hours in total to include wetsuit fitting, signing in, and equipment matching.
The session continues at the slipway, where participants launch into the harbour for a guided paddle. Instructors provide support with technique and encourage comfort on the board.
As confidence builds, the group explores the harbour, with guidance tailored to each individual's pace. There's no pressure to push limits, but those ready to experiment are welcome to do so.
