DoDublin.ie Digital Accessibility Statement
DoDublin.ie is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for as wide an audience as possible, regardless of ability or technology. The website is continually improved to enhance accessibility and usability.
In January 2026, the DoDublin website was updated to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. While the website largely conforms to these standards, some limitations remain, which are outlined below.
Measures to Support Accessibility
DoDublin.ie includes the following accessibility features:
- Responsive design for use across devices and screen sizes
- Support for keyboard navigation
- Correct use of heading structures to organize content
- Thoughtful use of colour and contrast
- Accessible forms
- A content management system designed to support accessibility
Known Accessibility Limitations
Despite efforts to achieve full accessibility, the following areas have limitations:
- Images; DoDublin are working to ensure all images on their website meet minimum accessibility requirements. Some images on the site may not have fully optimized alternative text for accessibility.
- Product Pages – Interactive Maps - Interactive maps on product pages are provided by Google Maps. Accessibility of these maps is controlled by Google and is therefore outside DoDublin’s control.
- Product Pages – YouTube Video Thumbnails - Video links on product pages use thumbnail images that can only include generic alternative text, rather than text specific to the individual video.
- Home Page – Hero Video - The video featured in the top banner of the home page contains no audio, so captions are not provided.
- Quiz Page – Inactive Text Visibility -Some text on the quiz page is greyed out until the user interacts with each question. This does not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast requirements, but was deemed a more suitable alternative to hiding the text entirely until activated.
- Booking / Checkout Pages – Worldpay Payment Options - The Google Pay and Apple Pay buttons in the Worldpay payment form do not provide a sufficiently visible focus indicator to show when they are selected. These elements are provided by Worldpay and are outside DoDublin’s control.
- Payment Page – Time Limits - The payment process is limited to a 10-minute session as defined by Worldpay. It is not currently possible to allow users to extend this time.
- Shopping Cart – Quantity Controls - The plus/minus buttons used to select the number of passengers are slightly smaller than WCAG recommendations (16px × 14px, where 24px is recommended). Users can alternatively enter the desired number directly into the input field using a keyboard or dial pad.
