President Joe Biden is visiting Ireland this week! President Biden has Irish ancestry and has a great love for the country and it's people, so we're delighted to welcome him and hope he enjoys every minute of his trip!

The president of America Joe Biden is visiting Ireland this week to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. The purpose of this trip is to celebrate this historic event and reinforce the value of good political negotiation at a time when relations in the north of Ireland are once again strained.

President Biden has a very busy itinerary on his Irish visit; having already visited his British counterpart Rishi Sunak in Belfast yesterday evening, today he’s visiting the Irish President Michael D. Higgins in his home at Áras an Uachtaráin located in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. Later in the evening, Biden will have dinner at Dublin Castle.

We do hope he also has time to take Tripadvisor's No.1 Ranked Hop-on hop-off tour while he's in town!

On Friday the April 14, Biden will visit his hometown in Ballina Co. Mayo located in the west of Ireland. During his stay he will give a public speech outside St. Muredach’s Cathedral before returning to the US in the evening.

For those of you who may be planning your own trip to Ireland this year, there are many other fantastic locations around our beautiful country that he won’t reach this time but which you can book on Dodublin.ie. The west of Ireland is a stunning place to visit and has fantastic attractions like the Cliffs of Moher which Is located just 2 hours from Mayo. You can also follow in President Biden’s footsteps and visit Belfast, taking in the Giant’s Causeway, or head south to discover Cork and visit the famous Blarney Castle.

Joe Biden has embraced his Irish roots for many years. His Irish heritage stems from his mother Catherine’s side of the family. Biden’s Irish connections are with the Blewitt’s from Co Mayo and the Finnegans and Kearney’s from Co Louth.

We’re delighted to welcome President Biden to Ireland and hope that he enjoys the rest of his short visit. Come back to see us again soon!
