Airlink 747 - Alternative Routes

The Airlink Express 747 Route is currently suspended, but we now provide three options for transfer between Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre.

  • Aircoach Service provides express coach buses which travel directly from the Airport to the City Centre without stop. Aircoach covers two of The Airlink 747 route stops: on Upper O'Connell Street and also on O'Connell Bridge. Aircoach buses depart from Dublin Airport between 00:25 and 23:55. If you are travelling to Heuston Rail Station you can take the Aircoach to O'Connell Bridge and then take the Luas or the 145 Bus from Aston Quay (both are a 2 minute walk from O'Connell Bridge) up to the rail station. Departures vary depending on the time - from every 40 minutes up to every 20 minutes at peak times.
  • Dublin Express is another express coach service that goes non-stop between Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre. There are two Dublin Express Routes, but their 782 Route covers most of the Airlink 747 stops travelling along the north quays from the 3 Arena, serving The National Convention Centre, IFSC, O'Connell Street, Aston Quay, Christ Church, Usher's Quay, and Heuston Rail Station. Departures from Dublin Airport are every 30 minutes from 04:05 until 23:25 7 days a week.
  • Freedom Ticket - If you wish to take the public transport network to Heuston Station from Dublin Airport you can take the Airport Bus Routes 16 or 41 which travel to O'Connell Street (these are not express routes and there are stops between the airport and city centre including at Santry and Drumcondra. The 41 bus terminates in Dublin City but the 16 route continues through the city to locations including Rathfarnham, Grange Road, Elm Park and Ballinteer. If you're travelling to Heuston Rail Station you can get the 16 or 41 to the city and then take the No.145 Bus from Aston Quay. The Freedom Ticket provides 3 days unlimited use of the Dublin public transport network as well as 2 days on the DoDublin Hop-on Hop-off tour. The 41 Bus operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and departs every 20-30 minutes.
