Ireland’s capital is becoming a popular weekend city break destination, the only problem is there is so much to see and do in such a short space of time. Not to worry! DoDublin have highlighted some must see locations and attractions to do during brief stays to help visitors get the most out of their trip.

How to get around…

We may be biased, but we believe the most beneficial way to see the city is with our best-selling Hop-On Hop-Off tour. We provide a great value 48-hour ticket for those who seek the full Dublin experience within a short time frame. Experience unique views of the city’s most famous landmarks and locations, receive the inside scoop behind these gems from our local guides, and of course navigate the hectic streets in one of our open top buses. The service runs at frequent intervals and increases during busy periods. Our stops are scattered around the heart of Dublin allowing you to step off beside the city’s must-see attractions, eliminating transport troubles.

Covering ground…

You’ll soon notice that you are spoilt for choice when deciding where to Hop-Off and explore. Be tactical, we recommend areas like Dublin 8 which is filled with popular tourist attractions to suit everyone’s tastes. With attractions such as distilleries, galleries, cathedrals and more all within walking distance of one another. While ticking the “people’s favourite” Guinness Storehouse off your list you must check out the nearby St Patrick’s Cathedral, Ireland’s National Cathedral, and other historic spots like Kilmainham Goal. Dive into the city’s rich culture and heritage that can’t be found anywhere else!  You could easily spend a day here once you uncover the unique coffee shops, gorgeous outdoor walks and greens, and delicious restaurants.

Getting the full experience…

For day two of your 48-hour pass, we recommend you get involved in the atmosphere around the Temple Bar district. It is a visitor’s rite of passage to cross the Ha’penny bridge to gain the best views of both sides of Dublin while experiencing significant history from the treasured crossing. Here you will find an abundance of pubs with live traditional music where you can also try a pint of the black stuff. But before you get comfortable make sure to have a browse in the quirky shops that are located around this cobblestoned area. From small vintage businesses to high end fashion stores across the way at Grafton Street you will find many ways to treat yourself. Other iconic attractions such as Trinity College are nearby so make sure to check out the Book of Kells and Dublin’s most loved park, St Stephens Green. Another great activity to do with the kids is the Ghostbus Kids Tour. Experience fun interactive stories with an educational spooky twist! Our professional storytellers aim to provide the best entertainment on board with fun games that your kids will enjoy.

And we have only scratched the surface…
