O'Connell Tower Climb
Discover an unforgettable blend of history, architecture and breathtaking scenery with the O'Connell Tower Climb and Experience Glasnevin Exhibition in Dublin.
Standing 55 metres tall within the historic grounds of Glasnevin Cemetery, the O'Connell Tower is the tallest round tower in Ireland and one of Dublin's most remarkable landmarks. Built in honour of Daniel O'Connell, known as "The Liberator", the tower offers visitors the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of history while enjoying one of the finest panoramic viewpoints in the city.
Your experience begins at the Visitor Centre before making your way to the tower. Descend into the beautifully restored crypt where Daniel O'Connell and members of his family are laid to rest before beginning the climb up the impressive spiral staircase.
The ascent includes 198 carefully restored steps, recreated using original nineteenth-century plans. Along the way, informative displays reveal the fascinating story behind the construction, destruction and restoration of this iconic monument.
At the summit, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views stretching across Dublin city, the historic Glasnevin Cemetery, the Wicklow Mountains and the Irish Sea, making this one of the city's most rewarding viewpoints.
Your ticket also includes entry to the Experience Glasnevin Exhibition, where interactive displays and engaging exhibits explore Ireland's social, political and cultural history through the lives of those buried within Glasnevin Cemetery.
