Follow the trail through the enchanting woodlands using the interactive booklet... solving clues and puzzles along the way. Find your way to the fairy shopping village, the fairy travel centre, the fairy library before making your wishes on the fairy wishing chair! There are lots of hidden treasures along the way including some large wooden sculptures and exotic trees!
The woodland fairy trail and its locations will capture the imaginations of little visitors keeping them enthralled for hours. Pack a picnic or visit Avoca foodhall for some delicious take out treats!
With fun sculptures, fairy houses and lots of other hidden secrets to find along this fun fairy trail, your little ones are guarnateed a day full of magic and fun at the interactive Fairy Trail which is perfect for kids of all ages, and is a great place to go on a family day out in Dublin, all set among beautiful wooded trails in lush parkland.
The trail is approximately 1.8km which will take about 1hr 15mins to get around...although time flies when you're having fun with fairies!
Visitors can experience the Republic of Ireland's only Butterfly House on the grounds of Malahide Castle & Gardens. Step inside the historic and beautiful Cambridge Glasshouse in the Walled Garden and watch the colourful butterflies among tropical plants and spot their individual traits and markings. Pick up a leaflet at the Admissions Desk to help you identify the various species.

Day Tours to Malahide Castle
DoDublin Tour regularly operate day trips to Malahide Castle & Howth Day Tour. This is a guided tour from Dublin City inlcuding a 1 hour stop at Malahide Castle, followed by free leisure time at Howth. Your tour will also pass by stunning sites along the North Dublin Coastline including Clontarf, Howth Head, and Portmarnock. Learn more about the tour here.
Getting to Malahide Gardens
Malahide Castle is located just outside the village of Malahide in County Dublin.
Bus: You can take Dublin Bus Routes 32 and 42 to Malahide Castle - the bus stop here is less than 200 metres from the Castle. For more information on Dublin Bus routes, visit dublinbus.ie. There is also a direct bus from Dublin Airport to Malahide village on route number 102, this is operated by Go-Ahead.
DART: The castle is approximately a ten minute walk from Malahide Station.
