Spend the day exploring some of Ireland's most significant historical sites, where ancient monuments and landmarks reveal the rich heritage of the country.

The first stop is Newgrange, one of the world's most significant Neolithic sites, built over 5,000 years ago. Visitors can explore its passageway and inner burial chamber, home to Europe’s largest collection of megalithic art. The tour also includes a visit to Knowth, another impressive monument in the area. Continuing on to the Hill of Slane which holds both ancient and Christian significance. It is linked to the burial of Sláine mac Dela, a legendary king, and became a focal point for Christianity in the 5th century when Saint Patrick is said to have lit the Paschal fire here. The hill later housed a monastery, founded by St. Erc, and remains of a church and tower still stand. Today, it is a testament to Ireland’s religious heritage.

Finally, Slane Castle, built in the 18th century by the Conyngham family, is famous for its rich history and stunning Gothic architecture. The castle was home to the family for over 300 years and has hosted significant events, including the visit of King George IV in 1821 and occupation by Cromwellian forces in the 17th century. Known today as a popular concert venue, Slane Castle has welcomed major acts like U2, The Rolling Stones, and Madonna.
