Christmas Gift Guide from Dublin's Attractions
As many of our favourite attraction’s doors remain shut throughout the city, buying Irish and local is more important than ever this year. Having missed out on so many visitors, many Dublin attractions have developed online shops with delivery right to your door, or click and collect options.
Even for native Dubs, these great gift ideas are all the more special. Not only are Irish suppliers, artists, designers, and writers some of the most talented around, when you buy Irish you’ll be supporting these super attractions, as well as the local economy.
From writers to whiskey distillers, and games as Gaeilge to personalised Guinness glasses, we have brought you some of the best Dublin attractions now selling great Christmas gifts.
National Gallery Shop
There is so much to love about the The National Galley (It’s free for starters), and its online store is as brilliant as you would expect from one of Dublin’s leading attractions.
You can give the gift of membership to family and friends which we think is just a perfect present! There are heaps of benefits to this, and the 12 month membership doesn’t start until the gift recipient activates it! There’s also a whole host of gift ideas which include everything from Monet prints to art and architecture books, to great games including jigsaws and word games – perfect for families around Christmas time!
Teeling Whiskey Distillery
Teeling has quickly become one of the city’s favourite whiskey attractions. Their working distillery is home to one of the country’s most popular whiskeys. You can pick up a bottle of Teeling online , and they also have thoughtfully designed local hampers which make a perfect gift for someone – including everything from their rooftop honey (Yes – the distillery has its own bees!), whiskey barrel aged chocolate, and extra Teeling goodies! Walking Tours of Dublin
A walking tour in winter around Dublin City is not something that springs to mind when thinking of Chrismtas presents, but when you have one of the best walking tours in the world on your doorstep, it's hard to pass by. Pat Liddy Walking Tours is a small, local walking tour company, and Pat has been giving the highest quality tours for years around the city. And it's not just run of the mill tours - Pat also runs special event tours at certain times of the year such as Bloomsday Walks, and walks in honour of Handel's Messiah and Jonathan Swift. Check out some great Christmas gift ideas on his Christmas page.
Jameson Distillery Bow Street
Jameson Distillery has been voted the world’s leading whiskey tour – twice! So we highly recommend a trip to Bow Street when it’s safe to do so. Until then, some great gifts await on the Jameson site including a chance to personalise whiskey bottles, hoodies, classy holdall bags, as well as this great Christmas Gift box – no wrapping required!
Museum of Literature Ireland
The Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI) was not long open when Covid arrived, and not many Dubliners have yet had the opportunity to visit what is sure to be one of the world’s leading literary museums. Housed in the UCD Naughton Joyce Centre at St Stephen’s Green, the museum celebrates all that is great about our literature – past and present. Their online shop has everything you need for the lover of literature in your life – prints, poetry books, calendars, and way more. Their Irish made section has some great gifts, and we love this print of a Dublin Georgian door!
Little Museum of Dublin
Little Museum, Big Shop. Our friends at the Little Museum of Dublin have a great selection of books, prints and other products for children and adults. You’ll find everything from James Joyce to Sally Rooney here, and for the kids, there’s everything from stunning illustrated books to this Build Your Own Dublin which we absoutely love!
There are also posters and prints of dear old Dublin we know you’ll love!
There’s also great value membership options if you want to give the gift of the museum to friends or family! It’s the gift that keeps on giving… for 12 months at least!
Pearse Lyons Distillery
One of our favourite Dublin whiskey distilleries, Pearse Lyons has a lovely selection of whiskey products and gifts available on their online store. Or perhaps you’d like to treat someone to a day out at the distillery – their whiskey and food pairing tour comes highly recommended!
Windmill Lane Recording Studio
DoDublin are big fans of unique attractions in the city, and Dublin’s historic recording studio at Windmill Lane is one of those true hidden gems in the city. Have a look at who has recorded there! Their tours bring visitors behind the scenes where some of the world’s greatest artists have recorded. Their online stores has everything from cool hoodies, to t-shirts, tote bags, and mugs! When attractions reopen – we highly recommend Windmill Lane for a great Dublin day out!
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
The historic cathedral is one of the city’s most popular attractions, and visitors to the magnificent cathedral are never disappointed. Pick up some lovely gifts from the Cathedral’s online store including these stunning cathedral Christmas cards.
Trinity College Dublin & Book of Kells
One of the world’s most famous libraries is one of Dublin’s most visited attractions. And it’s little wonder. We can’t wait for the Old Library to reopen its doors. For now, we suggest checking out the unique Book of Kells inspired collection. Their online store has everything from Irish Linen to jewellery, to clothes, books, and stationery.
Marsh’s Library
Another not so well known attraction in Dublin. The hidden gems are the best! Hidden away on St. Patrick’s Close, a visit to Marsh’s Library is a step back in time. Their online shop has great gifts – we especially like their “At It Again” card range – a perfect Dublin themed card to send to friends and family! There are also exhibtion catalogues, posters, and visits to purchase!
Croke Park Museum
An empty Croke Park is just no craic at all, and we can’t wait to see the stadium full again with the Dubs filling the Hill. For the GAA fan in your life, check out their range of photos, prints, and posters which go back years. You can also buy tour vouchers for when tours restart!
Carroll’s Irish Gifts
Ok, so not technically an attraction, but for the purposes of this post we can’t ignore the fantastic family run Carroll’s Gifts Store. Carroll’s have plenty of great gifts in stock including Irish food & drink, clothes, Christmas decorations, and this super “Not Before Your Dinner” hamper – yeah right!
